Mortified

I just misspelled Diana's name.

Diana, this is what I get for blogging at 10:30pm after working and watching Caroline all day. I'm so very sorry! xxoo

Will a picture make it better?!

I did it....

I did it.
I traveled to Minneapolis (in February) and had to leave Caroline for 2 nights. She did FAR better than me. Honestly, I don't think she noticed I was gone. Her daddy took GOOD care of her and I was so happy to be home. Minneapolis was very pretty and not terribly cold. I liked it a lot more than I thought I would.....but quite honestly, I love most cities. I was more concerned with the subzero temps, of which there were none.
There is no desire to leave Caroline any time soon, but I know it can be done. Lesson learned.
We're traveling to Dallas this weekend to visit my family. I am SO excited to see them! We haven't seen them since Christmas so it will be great for Caroline to get to see them again. Caroline is jumping aboard the germ-tube for the first time so I'm quite concerned. We're going to buy her a little mask and hope for the best. It's still better than an 8 hour drive from New Orleans to Dallas. I am so excited to see Sarah's house too! Any ideas for a house warming gift??
This precious picture was taken on 2/20 and she is wearing a precious outfit given to us by my sweet friend, Dianna. Thank you, Dianna! We love you and miss you!

My Valentines....

I love these two people so very much!
And I love my husband even more since he gave this beautiful child.
Caroline has been sucking her toes lately and it is THE sweetest thing EVER!!! And it's a good thing she's being so sweet because she has decided she no longer wants to SLEEP!! This is the angel that has slept through the NIGHT since week 2 or 3. No joke!! She has ALWAYS been a great sleeper, but not now.
She no longer wants to nap and stays awake for 6-8 hours at a time. That's a lot for being 4 months old, don't you think? Maybe I'm wrong. She sleeps at night but we don't put her to bed till around 10:30pm or so and then she will sleep till 7:30am or 8:00am. This is great, but she still seems like she needs naps during the day and she is just NOT wanting to take them. She's been fighting sleep all week and she seems exhausted. I'm wondering if she's teething.

I hope all of you have a wonderful Valentine's Day! I'm cooking dinner for my very sweet husband on Sunday. I'm hoping to stay in and cuddle up on the couch and watch a good movie together. This is my idea of a great Valentine's date. :)

Is it Wrong?

Hi everyone-

Is it wrong of me to be awake at 1:15am watching tv and reading blogs only because I am REALLY enjoying the peace and quiet?
It's not that loud in here...really, it isn't. It's just Mike and Caroline and Max and Tank. Only 1 of those 4 actually speak, but there's something about quietness that I actually crave these days. Tonight, I went to the Post Office to mail some packages (and very belated cards) and I actually didn't rush because I was enjoying the absolute stillness of the Post Office at the self serve counter. Seriously, is it wrong?
And I can't lie either, I'm also eating cookies sent directly from heaven. Well, technically, they're from the Fresh Market, but whose keeping tabs?

Now on with the real subject you few readers come to read about: Caroline.
Miss C is doing great. She had her 4 month check up last Friday and she was DIVINE. She is perfect in every way...surprise surprise...but really, Dr. Baham agreed too. I am leaving her tomorrow for more than 4 hours. Ouch, my heart. I honestly am becoming quite anxious about this. If it wasn't Super Bowl Sunday and if my husband and I didn't need a SERIOUS datenight, I wouldn't do it. But I know she wants her mommy and daddy to be happy so even she is encouraging us to go have some 'alone time' with 80,000 screaming Saints fans in the Quarter.

But really, is it wrong? It's 1:24am

The holidays and such

Caroline's first Christmas was a WHITE CHRISTMAS!

For the record, Sarah and I have dreamed of a white Christmas for years. As it turns out, all we needed was a precious little girl to be our lucky charm. Who knew?!

Enjoy the pics from the holidays.

Getting ready for Christmas

Because of this sweet little girl, I think this Christmas is going to be our best one yet!

We took some Christmas pictures earlier today and we're still trying to choose just the right photo. She got all dressed up in her Christmas dress we bought her before she was born and her beautiful new monogrammed silver bangle that my dear friend Leigh Ann got for her.

Hope all of you are enjoying this special time of year!
